Figuring Funding

Up to 70% Funding Funding Scheme: Base Subsidy 1


If you are a Singaporean or PR aged 21 and above, you can enjoy subsidies up to 70% of the course fee.

 

If you are a Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP+) holder

Under the Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP+) Funding Scheme, with effect from 1 October 2021, training support for Continuing Education and Training (CET) will be extended to Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) holders.

This will open up the following subsidies for LTVP+ holders:

  • Course fee subsidies for MOE/SSG-funded modular courses, SSG-funded WSQ qualifications and non-WSQ qualifications
  • Absentee payroll (AP) support to employers who send their LTVP+ employees for training
  • Enhanced Training Support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) (ETSS) that send employees who are LTVP+ holders for training
  • Work-Study (WS) placement incentives for employers participating in Work-Study programmes and employ trainees who are LTVP+ holders

Important Points to Note:

  1. LTVP+ holders will not be eligible for SGUnited Skills (SGUS), SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme-Company Training (SGUP-CT) and Career Conversion Programmes (CCPs) (which include both Professional Conversion Programmes (PCPs) and Rank-and-File programmes).
  2. The LTVP+ scheme currently applies to lawful foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens (SCs) with (i) at least one SC child or are expecting one from the marriage, or at least three years of marriage, and (ii) where the SC sponsor is able to support the family. LTVP+ holders can be identified with their green visit pass cards, with the word ‘PLUS’ on the back of the card.
  3. The grant disbursement process for LTVP+ trainees, such as submission of enrolment, attendance and assessment records will follow the existing processes applicable for SC/PR trainees on Training Partners Gateway.
  4. This scheme is applicable to Registered Training Providers (as defined in the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency Terms for Training Providers).

Up to 90% Funding

Funding Scheme: Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES)

If you are a Singapore Citizen 40 years old and above, you can enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee.

Up to 95% Funding

Funding Scheme: Additional Funding Support (ASF)

 

Eligible Singapore Citizens that meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria can enjoy subsidies up to 95% of the course fee:

  1. Long-term unemployed individuals (unemployed for 6 months or more); or

  2. Individuals in need of

    • Long-term unemployed individuals (unemployed for 6 months or more)

    • Individuals in need of financial assistance – ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance (SMTA) recipients or Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) recipients

    • Persons with Disabilities

Other Funding Options

1) SkillsFuture Credits

If you are a self-sponsored individual, you can use your SkillsFuture Credits to offset the course fee payable after funding

 

2) Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA)

If you are a self-sponsored Singaporean below 31 years old, you can offset the course fee payable after funding with your Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA)

3) Union Assistance Training Programme (UTAP)

The NTUC Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) is an individual skills upgrading account especially for NTUC members.

For selected courses, NTUC members enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme). Terms and conditions apply.

4) SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC)

The SFEC offers eligible employers up to $10,000 in credits to support their enterprise and workforce transformation efforts, covering up to 90% of out-of-pocket expenses.

To qualify, employers must meet certain criteria, including contributions to the Skills Development Levy and employing at least three Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. The credit can be used for approved transformation programs listed under SkillsFuture and other platforms and is available until 30 June 2025.

Entry Requirements

Singapore/PR Students:

  • Aged 16 years and above AND
  • Possess at least 3 GCE ‘O’ Level credits with a minimum of C6 including English and Mathematics OR
  • ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above OR
  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Fashion Technology OR
  • TaF.tc’s Advanced Certificate

International Students:

 

    • Aged 16 years and above AND

    • High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Levels with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics AND

    • IELTS score 5.5 or TOEFL score 46

Graduation Requirements

Student must fulfil the following requirements:

  • 75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
  • Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

Student Pass Holders:

  • A minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required
  • Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments
